Expository Essay Writing Prompts Expository essays are often called how-to essays. They usually teach the reader something or provide facts about a particular topic.
An expository essay is one that the writer investigates an idea, conducts research that explores on the given topic. The topic is analyzed, and the comparison and contrast aspect are included in the essay. The aim of an expository essay is to explain a topic logically in an easy and straightforward manner.

Writing prompts can be used throughout the year for writing projects or one month of journal prompts. There are 30 writing prompts in total. The writing prompts are written so that students can practice a variety of writing styles including; descriptive, persuasive, personal narrative, and creative.
